The previously rumored pairing of the 49ers and former Jets and Browns head coach Eric Mangini finally became official. He's going to be breaking down film and helping the team prepare for upcoming opponents. Mike Sando implies that he could be tabbed as the eventual replacement to Vic Fangio, who we all consider lucky to have not lost to a coaching vacancy so far. That was really the only story of the day. I'll do a few links to it below, but will first highlight the only other article written yesterday.

Ruthless Sports Guy has taken it on to brighten 49ers fans' day. In the wake of the Michael Crabtree injury there's been a wave of pessimism with me surfing the crest.
