The San Francisco 49ers are back in OTAs this week, getting through their final session of OTAs. The team will open practice up to the media today from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. PT, and then Coach Harbaugh will meet with the media immediately after for the usual Q&A. I have to think he'll get at least one Judge Judy question.
The team will follow this up with a mandatory minicamp June 11 through 13, and then it's time off until the start of training camp in late July. That 5-6 week stretch is a tough one as there is pretty much no football news. We'll have plenty of 2013 season preview content to keep us busy, but it will be slow for fresh news.
As the 49ers wrap up OTAs this week, wide receiver Anquan Boldin will be in attendance. This is mildly notable because many of his former teammates will be at the White House to be honored by the President. Boldin will be sticking around Santa Clara for the 49ers workouts. NFL.com is also reporting Boldin will miss the ring ceremony this Friday.
Unfortunately I'm going to miss a great opportunity to be with my Super Bowl team at the White House.

I know those guys will proudly share our Super Bowl memories and unforgettable moments on my behalf.

All reports out of Santa Clara indicate Boldin is looking real good in OTAs. It is only shorts, jerseys and helmets, but it's good to see that he's providing a good example for the rest of the team. He was already going to be an important part of the team. Removing Michael Crabtree from the equation makes him that much more important.
