Lawrence Okoye has an interview in the Daily Mail, one of the leading British papers. He discusses the difficulties of making the transition to a game he's never played. There's a video of him and another presumably 'famous' alumni visiting their old school and playing with the kids. They note that with all the injuries to the defensive line, he's taken more snaps than anyone during the offseason to date.
You've got some ominous quotes from Vic Fangio. 'He hasn't had anybody hit him yet. He hasn't had a double-team yet. He hasn't figured out if it's a run or pass, whether he should rush or play the run. So it'll probably be a very slow process with him much more than a normal rookie.'
That's what the man has to look forward to, but by all accounts he's a hard worker. I'm excited to watch his growth and it's one of those hypothetical, pull a great athlete from another sport and see what they can do scenarios that people discuss, but never get to see play out. Well, now we get to see it. | 'We'll see who comes out on top': Okoye ready to hit and be hit as he braces himself for San Francisco 49ers training camp (Daily Mail)
