Earlier this afternoon, Episode 1 of the Niners Nation podcast went live. This first podcast was 60 minutes long, and featured myself and Football Outsiders writer (and occasional NN writer) Danny Tuccitto. We talked a bit about the 2013 Football Outsiders Almanac, and bounced around some offense, defense and special teams.
Given that it was the first podcast, we had some technical issues to work through. For sizable chunks of the first 20 or so minutes, there is some echo of Danny's voice. I forgot to get headphones, and didn't find a pair until after 20 or 25 minutes in. At that point the echo goes away. Additionally, my voice is a bit in and out at times. I have to get used to speaking directly into the mic. Finally, we ran up to the time limit, so I know moving forward how to plan around time constraints. Other than that, I thought it was a fun time.
Niners Nation will be turning this into a weekly thing, and there is a good chance we'll be able to have several podcasts per week. I'll be doing one or two more general podcasts, and we'll also likely have a college football podcast to help get us all ready for next year's draft. liberty_JAC is hoping to do a bit of an analytical podcast, so that could be a fun one. Finally, we will likely have a post-game podcast on Sundays, or whatever day the 49ers are playing.
