49ers training camp practice, media schedule: Day 3 features Greg Roman, Nnamdi Asomugha, Joe Staley

The 49ers return for their third day of practice, which is also the first padded practice. We take a look at the media and practice schedule, and add a live video stream for the press conferences, as well as a Twitter list to follow during practice.

The San Francisco 49ers are back for their third day of practice at training camp. After two days of no pads, the team gets to roll out full pads today. The league is working in hip and thigh pads this season, and Coach Harbaugh has indicated initially for camp it will be required for rookies, but second year and beyond players will get a choice in the matter. I imagine most will want to use them so they can get used to the new pads.

With the team now going fully-padded in practice, we can start to get a little bit better idea of where they are at. The next step will be in game action when the preseason starts, but for now, this is a step forward.

The 49ers will once again have practice at 2:30 p.m. PT. That will be preceded by coach and player availability in the media tent starting at Noon PT. Today features offense coordinator Greg Roman, cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha and offensive tackle Joe Staley. Those three interviews should appear in the live stream up above. If they do not, check out 49ers.com/live to watch the press conferences.

Other players will speak with the media in the locker room, but they will not be on the live stream. I have embedded a Twitter list I created, featuring the various media and 49ers front office people at training camp. There will be some non-49ers tweets mixed in, but for the most part, this should be a big help during training camp.
