Nnamdi Asomugha marries Kerry Washington

Congratulations are in order for 49ers cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha. The recent addition to the team is in the news after word spread that he recently married actress Kerry Washington. E! Online is reporting the couple wed in Idaho on June 24. I'd be surprised the tabloids didn't pick this up, but I suppose getting married in Idaho makes it a little easier to fly under the radar.

We have had a lot of firsts on Niners Nation since we got going in 2006, and this is another first. I don't think we've ever linked to an E! Online article. If I had predicted which 49ers player would be involved in an E! link, it would have been Vernon Davis or Colin Kaepernick. They are arguably the two most high profile 49ers, with Kaepernick being the biggest non-sports cross-over star on the team.

While this post is primarily to congratulate Nnamdi on marrying Washington, it is also a chance to post this video from earlier in the offseason. 49ers rookie Marcus Lattimore spoke with SB Nation at the NFLPA Rookie Premiere. One of the questions asked of most of the rookies was who would be their dream date to the Oscars (the interviews took place in a location next door to where the Oscars take place). Lattimore's answer? Kerry Washington!
