The San Francisco 49ers are currently practicing, but we've got an early injury report. That is to say, there haven't been any new injuries today (knock on wood -- every single one of you), but the participation notes are out. Matt Barrows of the Sacramento Bee notes that the players sitting out include outside linebacker Aldon Smith, center Jonathan Goodwin and wide receivers A.J. Jenkins, Kyle Williams and Kassim Osgood.
As far as Jenkins and Osgood are concerned, the reports yesterday suggested hamstring strains, but there aren't any solid confirmations as far as that goes. The injuries appear to be minor, either way. Kyle Williams is a bigger concern given his injury history, and with the team's day off two days ago, he has now been inactive for three days. He got his hamstring checked on Saturday -- again, according to reports on Tuesday.
Goodwin is missing his second-straight day, but the reasons are unknown.
This means that inside linebacker NaVorro Bowman is back in action on Wednesday. Bowman sat out Tuesday's practice and was "working through something," which is 49ers coach speak for "I don't have to tell you a damn thing." Whatever it was, Bowman is definitely the most significant player though so it's a good sign to see him back in action.
Practice will last until about 4:30 p.m. PT, let's hope for no injuries, above all.
