Golden Nuggets: 49ers defeat Chiefs 15-13 as B.J. Daniels, defense shine

49ers links for Saturday, August 17, following the 49ers 15-13 win over the Kansas City Chiefs.

John Rieger-USA TODAY Sports

The San Francisco 49ers got their first win of the preseason Friday evening as they defeated the Kansas City Chiefs 15-13. B.J. Daniels shined in his fourth quarter appearance, guiding the 49ers to their first touchdown of the preseason. If you had Daniels to Chuck Jacobs in the pool, collect your winnings.

On the other side of the ball, the defense made it a bit of a long day for Alex Smith, securing three sacks of the Chiefs starting quarterback in the first half. The 49ers defense as a whole put together a solid effort, giving them back-to-back strong games.

We've got a few of the recaps for you, and I'm sure more will come along. Feel free to post any game-related links (or other links for that matter) in the comments. It's bed time on the East Coast!
