Week 2 preseason open thread: Saturday features Seahawks, Rams, Cardinals

We open up a thread for NFC West action in Week 2 of the preseason. Saturday features the Cardinals, Rams and Seahawks all playing at home against tough opponents.

The 49ers got their Week 2 preseason game out of the way Friday evening, but today's schedule features six games, including the other three NFC West teams. The Arizona Cardinals host the Dallas Cowboys at 1:30 p.m. PT on NFL Network, the St. Louis Rams host the Green Bay Packers at 5:00 p.m. and the Seattle Seahawks host the Denver Broncos at 7:00 p.m on NFL Network.

While preseason can only tell us so much, I'm intrigued enough that I'll try and catch the first string units for each game. For the Cardinals, I'm curious to see how their offensive line looks. Can they keep Carson Palmer on his feet? Can the rushing attack get something going. On the defensive side of the ball, what will we see from the Tyrann Mathieu, Patrick Peterson and that rather intriguing secondary.

The Rams-Packers game is worth watching for both teams involved since the 49ers get the Packers to open the season, and the Rams twice through the season. The Packers will debut Eddie Lacy as they look to build a more consistent rushing attack. The Rams will look to get Jared Cook and Tavon Austin involved in the offense this week. Both are strong additions as the Rams look to develop a more dangerous offense.

The Seahawks wrap up the day against the Broncos. The Seahawks made quite a few additions to their defense, and they'll get a crack against the dynamic Broncos passing attack. I'm curious in particular to see what the Seahawks pass rush brings to the table.

The Cardinals-Cowboys and Seahawks-Broncos games will be on NFL Network. If you don't get NFL Network, or don't get any of these games in your local market, you can watch all of them on NFL.com/PreseasonLive.
