Golden Nuggets: Chris Culliver tears ACL

Friday, August 2nd, 2013 edition of the Golden Nuggets, a daily compilation of San Francisco 49ers links from around the Internet.

USA TODAY Sports

So the San Francisco 49ers cornerback situation got even more complicated yesterday, with promising young gun Chris Culliver reportedly suffering an ACL tear to completely eliminate any shot of playing this season. Given the way the 49ers approached the cornerback position this offseason, it was easy to assume that Tarell Brown and Culliver stood the best shot at getting significant playing time.

Now Nnamdi Asomugha becomes even more important, though I have to admit I'm a little worried that Tramaine Brock might earn some playing time. Then again, I've been against Brock since he came to San Francisco so it is what it is. I'm moving back to California in two days and I've got a lot to do, so quick links for the day. Enjoy.
