And we're back for another week of the exciting world of preseason football! The San Francisco 49ers host the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday Night Football in a game we can call "the last preseason game in Candlestick Park history". I realize that is not the biggest of achievements, but it's still noteworthy in this the final season of The Stick.
Jim Harbaugh has said the coaching staff hopes to get time for all five of the quarterbacks on the roster. Of course, Harbaugh also said he thought Colin Kaepernick might get more work this past week than the week before. Circumstances apparently dictated otherwise, as Kap ended up with fewer snaps. Harbaugh said he'd like to get him more snaps this week, but again, circumstances could end up dictating otherwise once again. The team seems content letting Kap get a few snaps, and then get out of the way.
In case you missed it earlier in the week, we had a chance to chat with the folks at Daily Norseman on a variety of topics. I answered five of their questions about the 49ers, and they did the same for the Vikings. We also took a look at the position battles both sides will be looking at, and what players we should watch in the fourth quarter.
