Golden Nuggets: 49ers vs Vikings; Kendall Hunter, Kyle Williams to Return

Today's edition of the Nuggets will be short and sweet, by virtue of my mother-in-law cooking one of my favorite dishes. I'm already salivating and can't be weighed down by the Nuggz. We've got the game with the Vikings tonight. It's Week 3 of the preseason, the game that is generally referred to as the dress rehearsal. I still don't think we'll see too much of young Colin Kaepernick. I am looking forward to seeing Kyle Williams, Quinton Patton, Jon Baldwin and hopefully a better look at Marlon Moore.

Seeing as this is being done early and more links inevitably get posted on a gameday morning, get the links in the comments. Help me out.

Christian Gin details some of the players on the bubble who should look to make a splash in this game if they want to cement their place on the roster. We've got some serious battles going on. | Bubble Watch: 49ers players who need to make a statement against the Vikings (Gin)

Two players I'm dying to see in action are Vance McDonald, who looked sterling in the first preseason game, and Kendall Hunter. This will be Hunter's first action since his achilles injury against the Saints last year. He and Kyle Williams were hurt on the same play and will return to action in the same game. It would be cool if they got back on the field on the same play. Or would that be tempting fate? | Kendall Hunter and Vance McDonald will return to action vs. Vikings (BASG)

I put this in the comments of yesterday's Nuggets, but in case you missed it, it's worth a look. Jim Trotter wrote this big piece on Anquan Boldin, what motivates him and what he brings to the table. I'm so, so, so glad we picked him up. | Immune to the Haters

PFF has released their preview of the 49ers. It doesn't say much that you shouldn't already know. What they list as our strengths, you know are our strengths. Their weaknesses, we're aware of them. Here's some audio of Warren Moon, courtesy of PFT. I'm assuming Colin Kaepernick's name arises in the young QB segment, but I don't have time to listen. | Moon talks Cris Carter, young quarterbacks, and more (PFT)
