Fooch's update: Parys Haralson traded
Matt Maiocco is reporting the 49ers are shopping outside linebacker Parys Haralson. The first round of roster cuts are 24 hours away, and given how deep the 49ers roster currently is, they're trying to get whatever they can in return for some of their potentially departing talent.
Haralson has had a very solid preseason thus far, and looks completely recovered from the torn triceps he suffered late last preseason. After Aldon Smith and Ahmad Brooks, Haralson has primarily been playing with rookie Corey Lemonier. On Sunday, Dan Skuta moved ahead of him for some snaps with the second string defense, which might have been our first sign that something was up. Cam Johnson played as well, but after a solid first two weeks, he suffered a shoulder injury and left the game. There has been no update on his status.
As it currently stands, Lemonier would be the guy coming on in pass rush situations, while Haralson would be more of just a general backup. With Dan Skuta and Cam Johnson potentially behind Lemonier as well, Haralson could provide a team with a solid veteran presence. We'll see what the next 24 hours brings.
