When things are a bit quiet, or I'm just looking to come up with story ideas, Twitter can be my best friend. With a quick tweet of a question, people will send all sorts of responses. The best example of that to date was when we came up with a bunch of pictures of people's 49ers-related tattoos.
Earlier today, someone asked me to come up with a list of 49ers-related fantasy football team names. Eric Branch tweeted that a source told him 49ers roster cuts would not start until 7:00 a.m. PT on Saturday. With some potential free time, I thought it would be fun to see what names people are using for their fantasy football teams. I know some of you do not play fantasy football, but even you might get a kick out of some of these team names.
I have a couple regular ones that I use. In one league I go with Captain Comeback, as an homage to Jim Harbaugh's days with the Indianapolis Colts. Someone put together a better version mixing in Colin Kaepernick. The other is, I've got VD and Crabs (sometimes also, I love VD and Crabs). It really writes itself.
