The San Francisco 49ers and Seattle Seahawks released their injury reports and there are not a lot of surprises. A day after LaMichael James stated that he thought he would be involved in Wednesday's practice, he was the only player on the 49ers practice participation report. He is recovering from an MCL sprain, and given the initial three to four week rehab timeline, it is not surprising to see him sitting out practice. My guess is we start to see him back next week as a limited participant.
The Seahawks report is not all too surprising either. Brandon Browner continues to sit out practice as he deals with a hamstring injury. The Seahawks secondary is arguably the best in the NFL, and losing Browner would sting. Pete Carroll said earlier today that he felt Browner had a real good chance of playing on Sunday. We'll see if he actually gets back on the practice field first.
The big return for the Seahawks would be defensive lineman Cliff Avril. He missed most of the preseason while dealing with a hamstring injury. He returned to practice last week, but ended up as doubtful for Week 1, eventually sitting out the game. He was a limited participant in practice today. If he plays, I believe he would line up in the Seahawks LEO role, and face off with Joe Staley. Avril was a much-discussed addition for the Seahawks, so we'll see what sunday brings.
