Yes, indeed, it's rivalry time! The 49ers square off against the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday Night Football in what may be the 49ers second straight game that is hyped up as the game of the week. The 49ers and Seahawks are among the favorites to come out of the NFC for the Super Bowl. While Week 2 does not make or break a season, every win is essential for two teams battling for divisional supremacy.

The 49ers are facing Seattle for the first time since they were handily dispatched in prime time last year. I think it's safe to say we're all hoping to avoid a repeat of that disastrous outing! This will be your first quarter game thread, and we'll be back with a new thread each quarter.
