Late in Sunday's loss to the Seahawks, Vernon Davis suffered what was later described as a hamstring injury. On Monday, Jim Harbaugh met with the media and told them Davis was being looked at, but did not provide any further detail. Tuesday evening, Davis provided an update on Twitter.

The 49ers will release their first practice participation report Wednesday afternoon, and odds are pretty good that Davis will either be limited or a DNP. It would be nice for him to get in at least one full practice session this week, but I imagine of all the players on the roster, Davis is one for whom missed practice does not create a ton of concern.

Of course, the bigger concern with Davis has to be getting him more involved in the passing game. Davis had three catches for 20 yards, but seemed to have several other opportunities. In particularly, he went deep a couple times, and while he was not 100 percent open, there seemed to be some opportunities for Kap to go deep. Davis is a big enough guy that if he was sufficiently covered he could at the very least fight to prevent the defender from catching the ball.

Through two weeks, the Colts defense ranks dead last in DVOA vs. tight ends. It's a small sample size, and it will be interesting to see how much the Colts focus on Vernon given that he is a little more high profile than anything the Raiders or Dolphins would throw out at tight end.
