David Richard-US PRESSWIRE

The San Francisco 49ers had to make a roster move this week, and we've updated the depth chart accordingly. As always, the depth chart is put together by the PR department with insight from some of the coaches. Jim Harbaugh always makes sure to clarify that it's a PR release. Jim Harbaugh has since met with the media, and he addressed some of the depth chart question marks brought on by Ian Williams' injury and the Owen Marecic signing.

The loss of Ian Williams leaves the 49ers with limited depth along the defensive line. The 49ers actually had to briefly send Ray McDonald back onto the field after his ankle sprain on Sunday due to limited options behind him. The team reportedly worked out defensive lineman Kyle Love earlier this week. During his Wednesday press conference, Jim Harbaugh stated that the team was comfortable with Tony Jerod-Eddie as the backup nose tackle.

After placing Williams on injured reserve, the 49ers replaced him on the 53-man roster with fullback Owen Marecic. He is very much a traditional blocking fullback. He caught 25 passes in his time at Stanford, but his work with the 49ers would be as a blocking back and special teams player. On Wednesday, Harbaugh said Marecic would be the backup fullback and have a special

I suspect Marecic is inactive this week as he gets acclimated to the team, but I'm not sure what the future holds.
