Packers sign QB Seneca Wallace, to join Scott Tolzien in ex-49ers brigade

The Green Bay Packers continue adding ex-49ers, as they signed QB Seneca Wallace. What will his 1:06 of playing time with San Francisco do for the Packers' Week 1 preparations?

This is already old news, but it's worth a post just for my own amusement. The Packers continue adding ex-49ers, as they announced the signing of quarterback Seneca Wallace. This move comes after the team signed Scott Tolzien to their practice squad.

Immediately people have been wondering about Wallace and/or Tolzien providing information to the 49ers Week 1 opponent. While I am sure the Packers coaching staff will talk about the 49ers with Wallace and Tolzien, I am not overly concerned about them providing too much information. As Matt Maiocco mentioned over the weekend, the primary concern would be changing line signals. Other than that, the team will be implementing their Week 1 game plan this week, after both players left.

It does still make for amusing discussion. The Chiefs grabbing 49ers off waivers makes sense, given that they had the top waiver priority, and were a really bad team last year. The Packers grabbing the 49ers sloppy seconds at quarterback is intriguing to say the least. And for those that were overly concerned about the 49ers backup situation, at least we know somebody else is having just as much trouble sorting through it.
