Week 3 AM game thread

New, comments

We've got an open thread for discussion of Week 3 morning games.

Jeff Hanisch-USA TODAY Sports

The San Francisco 49ers get going at 1:25 p.m. PT, and in the meantime we get nine AM games to enjoy.

The NFC West has two early games and one afternoon game. The St. Louis Rams travel to face the Dallas Cowboys, while the Arizona Cardinals travel to face the New Orleans Saints. The Rams and Cardinals are both 1-1, facing particularly tough challenges this week. The Cowboys struggled in their loss to the Chiefs, but they bring the potential for serious offensive fireworks. The Cardinals are coming off a 25-21 win over the Lions and look to build on it with an always tough road game in the Superdome.

The two best games of the afternoon are probably Packers at Bengals and Texans at Ravens. All four are potential playoff teams, and facing tough tests early in the season. The road team is favored in both games. I've got the Texans and Bengals winning.

We'll be back with inactives 90 minutes before the 49ers game, and then the first open thread around 1 p.m. PT.
