49ers vs. Packers TV schedule: Where to watch the game in the US and around the world

We take a look at where the 49ers-Packers game will be broadcast in the United States, the UK and on Armed Forces Network. We also include a call for any other viewing options around the world. New to Niners Nation? Sign up here and join the discussion!

Week 1 of the 2013 regular season is upon us, which means it is once again time to figure out where you can watch the San Francisco 49ers in the United States and abroad. The 49ers will spend plenty of time in prime television slots, which should make it a little bit easier to watch them play. It won't be perfect, but it's a step in the right direction.

The 49ers open their season against the Green Bay Packers as the FOX game of the week. That means a 1:25 p.m. PT start, and FOX's No. 1 crew of Joe Buck, Troy Aikman and Pam Oliver. The folks at have the weekly broadcast maps to show you where in the United States the game will be available. Arizona vs. St. Louis is the other NFC game Sunday afternoon, so that means the only people not getting the game are in those two TV markets. If you are unsure of your market, check the map to see where you fall. And if you need to go to a bar to watch the game, check out our sports bar open thread.

I normally check A Rouge Point for Canadian broadcast information, but they do not have info yet. I tweeted them, so hopefully we get a heads-up soon.

Fooch's Update: A Rouge Point has updated. For 49ers-Packers, they listed City and Sportsnet East

Another resource is the Armed Forces Network - Europe website. AFN Europe will be broadcasting NFL action on AFN Sports and AFN Prime Atlantic. It does not say which games will be airing, but I have to think the 49ers will be one of them.

NFL UK has a rundown of all NFL action available over there. Their schedule page lists the games and provides a heads-up on television and radio options. The 49ers and Packers will be airing on Sky Sports and "Absolute Radio 90s". Absolute Radio streams their content, but I imagine much like US radio broadcasts, you can't listen to the live stream of the game.

If you live in the Far East, All Sports Network TV might have you covered. They will be broadcasting the game live at 4:25 a.m. Hong Kong time. It looks like the game will be broadcast throughout southeast Asia. Check out their map if you live out there.

That is all I have for now. Apparently ESPN America, which covered chunks of Europe, is no more.

If you live somewhere abroad and you know the game will be broadcast where you live, let us know in the comments. I know that Roy_from_Israel would give us a shout about broadcasts over there. Of course, he might have been our only user in Israel, but maybe it helped some lurkers!
