Ravens vs. Broncos, TNF season opener: Football's back!

We've got our first regular season game thread! Thursday Night Football is back!

Ron Chenoy-USA TODAY Sports

Welcome back to real football, y'all! The preseason was nice and all, but it's no regular season. And now, we have a little something to get us ready for Sunday's main course. The Denver Broncos host the Baltimore Ravens in a rematch of last year's wild divisional round game. The Ravens escaped Denver with a 38-35 double overtime victory, and we know what happened after that. <grumble, grumble>

The Broncos are once again a Super Bowl favorite, and they added even more firepower. The Broncos signed wide receiver Wes Welker and drafted running back Montee Ball. Of course, their defense faces several issues. They lost Elvis Dumervil due to a contract snafu. Von Miller is suspended to start the season. Champ Bailey is dealing with an injury and will sit out tonight. That's a lot of quick questions for that defense.

I picked the Broncos to cover tonight. They are 7.5 point favorites, but even with that kind of line, I think they have their way with Baltimore tonight. Of course, part of that might just be me hoping for it! You can read more about the game at Mile High Report and Baltimore Beatdown.
