The San Francisco 49ers trailed the Green Bay Packers 7-6, and the Packers seemed to be gaining momentum. The 49ers had struggled in two red zone appearances, and then Colin Kaepernick followed that with an interception. Fortunately, Frank Gore and Colin Kaepernick are always threats to open things up.

On 1st and 10 at the 49ers 45 yard line, Colin scrambled up in the pocket and broke loose for a 42-yard run. The run was keyed in part by Kap's gazelle-like strides, but it was also keyed by Frank Gore's huge block:

Gore followed this up with a ten-yard touchdown run, and he deserved the touchdown given the work he did on that block. Gore has always been a strong blocker, and it seems like every game we see at least one example of this. Kap was going to have a decent gain without it, but the block sprung the 49ers deep into Packers territory.
