Golden Nuggets: Marcus Lattimore nearing return

Friday, October 10th, 2014 edition of the Golden Nuggets, a daily compilation of San Francisco 49ers links from around the Internet.

Jason O. Watson

Good morning folks. The San Francisco 49ers play the St. Louis Rams this week, and while I don't think the Rams are particularly impressive, I think they always tend to play the 49ers hard and we could be in for a rough game. Keeping Colin Kaepernick on his feet will be the most-important goal for the offense, though I have serious doubts they'll be able to given the play of this offensive line of late. Fortunately, the Rams haven't been particularly good at getting to opposing quarterbacks this season.

We've also got some talk about running back Marcus Lattimore now which is kind of awesome. The 49ers have their man in Frank Gore and their future man in Carlos Hyde but Lattimore is just too talented to ignore. I doubt there's many 49ers fans who aren't excited just a little bit for the potential Lattimore brings to the table. Hopefully, we'll see him on the active roster sooner rather than later.
