The San Francisco 49ers are off until Monday, which means we get a full Sunday of football with no stress. OK, maybe a little stress while waiting for tomorrow, but in the meantime, we can enjoy Sunday games without worrying as much about the 49ers.
The early schedule features some intriguing matchups. There actually is not a whole lot of impact on the 49ers in this slate, but there is at least the potential for fun football. Lions-Vikings is the only NFC vs. NFC matchup of the morning. The Lions are tied with the Packers at 3-2 on top of the NFC North, while the Vikings are tied with the Bears at 2-3. The NFC North is not a pretty picture this year, but it could go down to the wire.
The Patriots and Bills is an intriguing morning matchup. Both teams are coming off wins, with New England looking strong in their victory over the Cincinnati Bengals. The Bills are tied with them for first in the AFC East, so this one is kind of a big deal at this early juncture.
My favorite matchup of the morning is probably Steelers-Browns. The Steelers took the first matchup in Pittsburgh, but they had to withstand a furious Browns comeback. Cleveland is looking pretty solid this season, so we'll see how this one plays out. I'm picking the Browns to win, but this could be a wild one.
