The afternoon slate of NFL games provides several notable matchups, three of which have at least some kind of bearing on the San Francisco 49ers. We'll be back later today with a Sunday Night Football thread, and then it's all about Monday Night Football after that!
The most notable game is Cowboys vs. Seahawks. The 49ers beat the Cowboys in Dallas earlier this season, and now Dallas gets the good fortune of traveling to Seattle. The Cowboys are playing solid football this season, but I just don't think they can win in Seattle. DeMarco Murray has been the key to their offensive success, thoroughly dominating on the ground. If they are going to have a chance, they need a monster day from him to quiet down the Seattle crowd, and somewhat remove the Seahawks secondary from the equation. If this game ends up in Tony Romo's hands, who knows how it will end up playing out.
Arizona is also in action, hosting Washington. They have had numerous question marks about their quarterback situation, but it would appear they are settling on Drew Stanton for this week. I had considered taking Washington in my SuperContest picks if Logan Thomas was starting, but with that likely not happening, I can live with skipping this game.
The Chargers-Raiders game brings some level of interest. It marks the first game for Raiders interim coach Tony Sparano. I think the Chargers still handle them with ease, but adding a new head coach can be a wild card.
