Golden Nuggets: Let's Get to Those Rams

Monday, October 13, 2014 edition of the Golden Nuggets, a daily compilation of 49ers links from around the web.

Kyle Terada-USA TODAY Sports

This is a rare slow Monday for the Nuggets since the 49ers are slated for their only Monday Night Football appearance for the year. Half of the NFC West will be in action Monday as the Niners play the St. Louis Rams, but the other half was on the field Sunday. Like myself, I'm sure quite a few of you enjoyed "not rooting" for the Cowboys, and I have to admit that was some of the most fun I've had watching a non-49ers game.

At the same time, the Arizona Cardinals were able to squeak by the lowly Washington team, so the Cards will retain first place in the NFC West no matter the outcome of the MNF game. The 49ers though can slide into second place in the West with a dominant showing on the road, where they have been the best in the NFL during the Harbaugh era. We have quite a few game previews and things to note going into tonight's contest so enjoy, and let's get this win!

This is good news for depth's sake, but I would never ever want to see Gabbert in a 49ers game unless it was mop up duty for a blowout win. | Harbaugh: Gabbert coming on strong as 49ers' backup (Maiocco)

I know he's writing about Baalke, but it's still clearly a well masked jibe at Harbaugh. I wonder what Jim did to tick this guy off.
