Vikings vs. Packers TV schedule: Game time, injuries, odds and more for Thursday Night Football

The Packers and Vikings open up Week 5 with a Thursday Night Football matchup. We take a look at some nuts and bolts for the game.

Jeff Hanisch-USA TODAY Sports

We're back for Week 5 of the 2014 NFL season. The San Francisco 49ers face the Kansas City Chiefs this weekend, but in the meantime, we get to start things off with the Green Bay Packers hosting the Minnesota Vikings on Thursday Night Football. The game kicks off at 5:25 p.m. PT, and will air on CBS, while being simulcast on NFL Network. CBS is covering the first half of TNF this season, which means we get Jim Nantz and Phil Simms. Good times!

The Packers are currently an 8-point favorite, although that line has shifted a fair amount this week. Green Bay opened as a 10-point favorite, but the line moved down to as low as 7.5-points. Some books took it off the board when it was clear Teddy Bridgewater was an injury question mark. He suffered an ankle injury on Sunday, and is officially a game-time decision tonight. If Bridgewater is unable to play, Christian Ponder will get the start.

I've been trying to decide if I would include this game in my SuperContest picks, but the Bridgewater question leaves me less than thrilled with the option. In the SuperContest, I have to pick the Packers at -9. I do think they can win this game by double digits, but divisional games can often throw me for a loop. And given the Packers struggling defense, I could see the Vikings overpowering them with their run game. Of course, by skipping them, that now means the Packers are going to win this one in a laugher.

My prediction is the Packers win by 11. If you wager based on my predictions, just remember I thought the Patriots would beat the Chiefs with east on Monday. Fade accordingly.
