Lions-Falcons: Game time, TV schedule, odds for London early game

Richard Heathcote

The Detroit Lions and Atlanta Falcons square off in an eaaaaaarly Week 8 game. They are playing in London, and the NFL decided it wanted to have a slightly earlier game. Normally they play an early evening game that kicks off at 10 a.m. PT, but this time they are providing us with a 6:30 a.m. PT kickoff. The 10 a.m. game is already early enough. It will be interesting to see what kind of ratings this game draws on the west coast, and really everywhere west of the Mississippi.

The game will be broadcast nationally, so if you do happen to be up and need your football fix, FOX will have the broadcast for you. This means if you are watching FOX games today, you'll get this game, and then either a 10 a.m. or 1 p.m. game. A little bonus football, albeit sacrificing some sleep to watch.

The Lions are a 3.5-point favorite over the Falcons, with the over/under set at 46.5 points. Detroit enters the game at 5-2, riding a 2-game winning streak. Atlanta is 2-5 and riding a 4-game losing streak after a solid start.

Game time: 6:30 a.m. PT
Channel: FOX
Announcers: Thom Brennaman, Troy Aikman
Odds: Lions -3.5
