Welcome to a non-49ers game day! The team is on a bye this week, so we're left to just enjoy some random football all day long. Many of you likely have fantasy football concerns to consider. If not, you're welcome to check out Fanduel for daily fantacy action. It has an entry fee each game (anywhere from $1 to $25 per game), but you can win some straight cash homey.

In the meantime, the big news on Saturday was the 49ers placing Chris Cook and Daniel Kilgore on injured reserve. Kilgore suffered a break to his upper ankle, while Cook reportedly tore his hamstring. Kilgore was doing great work at center, while Cook was an able reserve in the secondary.

The 49ers signed special teamer Bubba Ventrone, which marks his first signing not connected to Josh Johnson in quite some time! What's really interesting though is the 49ers now have an open roster spot. Aldon Smith could have his suspension ended sometime soon, but we don't know anything for certain. The 49ers could decide to sign a cornerback with Cook done for the year, but we'll have to wait and see what the next day brings. The 49ers return to practice on Monday, so I suspect they will have that roster spot filled by then.

Also, just a reminder that Lions-Falcons kicks off at 6:30 a.m. PT in London. We'll have a thread for that around 6:15 a.m. PT.
