The San Francisco 49ers and St. Louis Rams square off on Sunday, and will get FOX's No. 2 crew. The game kicks off at 1:05 p.m. PT, and will be called by Kevin Burkhardt and John Lynch. Pam Oliver will handle the sideline duties. FOX had some issues during the offseason when they promoted Erin Andrews to the No. 1 crew. It sounded like Oliver was going to be out of sideline work, but she instead worked out a deal to work with the No. 2 crew this year.
This time and crew means the game will not be nationally televised. It is the only FOX game in the afternoon, but it would appear FOX will only have one game in a given market. CBS has Patriots-Broncos which will get the overwhelming majority of markets in that afternoon time slot. The only team markets that will definitely not get Patriots-Broncos will be Oakland and Seattle, due to Raiders vs. Seahawks. That covers a small portion of the Bay Area, and then most of the Pacific Northwest.
It will be interesting to see what Southern California gets with the 49ers, Raiders and Patriots-Broncos all potential options. My guess is SoCal ends up with Patriots-Broncos, but we'll see what the broadcast maps bring us in the next day or two. I'll have the full rundown of where you can find the 49ers broadcast before the end of the week.
