Anthony Davis is a different Anthony Davis than the New Orleans Pelicans' Anthony Davis

Anthony Davis provided a public service announcement on Tuesday in advance of the tip to the 2014-15 basketball season. It's worth reading if you follow both football and basketball.

The NBA kicks off it's 2014-15 season Tuesday evening with a TNT doubleheader, and a third regionally televised game. The San Antonio Spurs host the Dallas Mavericks at 5 p.m. PT, followed by the Los Angeles Lakers hosting the Houston Rockets at 7:30 p.m. The regional game features the New Orleans Pelicans hosting the Orlando Magic. If you're a basketball fan, I highly recommend checking out SB Nation's NBA preview. We have what I consider the best team of NBA writers anywhere, and they have put together a fantastic preview of the season.

Speaking of the Pelicans, their starting power forward is Anthony Davis. The return of basketball apparently leads to some confusion among football fans. The San Francisco 49ers right tackle Anthony Davis wanted to clarify that today.

Both are great young talents, and both were first round picks. There's limited similarities beyond that, other than having the same name. But just to be clear, I put together this high tech comparison of the two professional athletes.
