The San Francisco 49ers and St. Louis Rams released their first practice participation reports of the week, and as expected, things look a lot better for the 49ers than before. The 49ers have four players on their injury report, with Tramaine Brock, Jimmie Ward and Patrick Willis listed as limited, and Chris Culliver listed as full. For comparison's sake, in Week 7, they had 12 players with assorted injuries (plus Justin Smith getting a veteran's day off). Marcus Lattimore and Glenn Dorsey do not appear on this list because they are in their practice window, and not yet on the 53-man roster.
This is not surprising, but it sure does look good seeing a limited report. When compared to the extensive Rams report, it is even more so. The 49ers injury report will likely increase as the second half of the season moves along, but the team will take as many healthy players as it can right now.
The 49ers last practice before the bye was the Friday leading up to the Broncos game. In that practice report, Mike Iupati, Jimmie Ward, Patrick Willis and Chris Culliver all sat out practice. More importantly, the "full participation" list included CB Perrish Cox, TE Vernon Davis, DE Tony Jerod-Eddie, WR Stevie Johnson and DT Ian Williams. They were all able to practice in full and play that Sunday, but they were still dealing with various health issues. They may or may not be quite at 100 percent, but the week off has them in better shape than before that Broncos game.
