The San Francisco Giants completed a wild run through the playoffs, defeating the Kansas City Royals in seven games to claim their third World Series title in five years. While I am not a Giants fan, I can certainly recognize their impressive run the last five years, so congrats are in order. And considering the 49ers have come so close the last three years only to fall short, more power to the Giants.
Speaking of that, the Giants have now won the World Series in 2010, 2012 and 2014. Corey Long pointed out something interesting. After the Giants won the 2010 World Series, the 49ers hired Jim Harbaugh. After the Giants won the 2012 World Series, the 49ers made it to the Super Bowl. Maybe 2014 brings that elusive sixth Lombardi?
