Vernon Davis, Anthony Davis miss full week of 49ers practices, Ian Williams late addition to injury report

The 49ers and Chiefs released their final injury reports, listed below. Ian Williams was a late addition, while, Anthony Davis and Vernon Davis are both questionable having gotten in no practice this week.

The San Francisco 49ers released their final injury report for Week 5, and both tight end Vernon Davis and right tackle Anthony Davis are listed as questionable for Sunday. Both missed all three days of on-field practice this week, and odds would not seem good for either of them to play.

The biggest news is the addition of nose tackle Ian Williams. After practicing the first two days, Williams sat out on Friday with a new ankle injury. This is similar to what happened last week with Antoine Bethea's addition to the report on Friday. My guess is Williams plays, but we'll have to wait and see what Sunday brings. The 49ers are likely going to spend a good chunk of Sunday in their base 3-4, so his absence would be kind of a big deal. Quinton Dial would likely get some opportunities if Williams is limited or cannot play.

Eric Reid is listed as questionable with a hamstring injury. He suffered the injury on Darren Sproles touchdown return. He came off the field and threw his helmet in frustration, but he also returned to the field shortly after, so it was not too much of an issue it would seem. This likely is just a precautionary listing.

Vernon Davis injured his back when he took a knee to it this past Sunday. He was in obvious pain and needed some help getting back to the locker room. The injury was subsequently described as back spasms, and Davis seemed to think he would be fine. Given his absence from all three practices, I would be surprised if he plays. That being said, he would seem to be a clear pre-game warmup decision.

Anthony Davis suffered a knee injury on Sunday when Colin Kaepernick was sacked into him. He left the post-game locker room with a cane, but was seen without a cane or knee brace earlier this week. I would be surprised if he played, but the 49ers will likely drag this out into the pre-game warmups.
