Good morning everyone. The 49ers went into their bye a battered and beaten team, but come out much healthier. They face a beaten down Ram's team that just lost two players - Jake Long and Brian Quick - to season ending injuries. They also just traded draft picks for former first round pick of the Buccaneers, Mark Barron. It's a curious move, because while Mark Barron certainly still has some upside as a big safety, the Rams are going nowhere. I'm not sure trading draft picks to improve the roster this season is the way to go.
One of the bigger stories I am looking forward to seeing play out on Sunday is Marcus Martin. The rookie center out of Southern California is coming off an injury and will be starting his first game Sunday, in place of the injured Daniel Kilgore. Because of my dad's influence, I watch a log of USC football, and Marcus Martin always stood out to me when he was there. He reminds me of a smaller Anthony Davis. A young, but really athletic lineman, that can dominate when he is on. I am fairly comfortable predicting right now that Daniel Kilgore won't get his job back. Marcus Martin is going to be the 49ers starting center for a long time. To the links!
