We're back for another week of football! Week 9 kicks off with a pretty huge Thursday Night Football contest. The Carolina Panthers host the New Orleans Saints with first place in the NFC South on the line. The game kicks off at 5:25 p.m. PT on NFL Network. Thus far, TNF games have been on CBS, and simulcast on NFL Network. Starting tonight, the games are only on NFL Network. It will be simulcast in New Orleans and Charlotte, but nowhere else.
The Panthers have the mathematical lead courtesy of a 3-4-1 record, while the Saints are just behind them at 3-4. The NFC South has not been pretty thus far, but I'd imagine one of these two teams is going to end up winning the division. A Saints road win tonight could be the difference-maker. Of course, the Saints are not a good road team. They enter this game as a 1.5-point favorite, but actually are 0-7 as road favorites the last two seasons. Meanwhile, the Panthers are 5-1 ATS in their last six games against the Saints, and are 9-2-1 ATS in their last ten games.
Game time: 5:25 p.m. PT
Channel: NFL Network
Announcers: Jim Nantz, Phil Simms, Tracy Wolfson
Odds: Saints -1.5
