Good morning everyone. The 49ers are coming off their biggest win of the season where they beat the Saints on the road in overtime 27-24. The game was probably entertaining to a neutral observer, but for me, it was close to hell for a little bit in the second half. I have to admit, I was starting to get really pessimistic towards the end of the game. Where the 49ers were at in the standings (and still are, really) they needed to win that game at all costs, and it looked a lot like that wasn't going to happen for a while there. But that's when the 49ers - in true 49er fashion - pulled me right back in. Michael Crabtree got waaay open on 4th and 10 in the closing minutes of the game and allowed the 49ers to send it to overtime where they eventually won.
Speaking of Michael Crabtree, a good number of the links today have to do with him. He made some comments after the game where he essentially complained about his role in the offense. Then Jim Harbaugh misread the situation of that particular interview and everyone's favorite columnist, Tim Kawakami, had a cow and spent a good deal of the past few days blocking people on twitter. I'll say this about Michael Crabtree: the amazing game (maybe season?) saving catch aside, he is making the 49ers impending free agency decision really easy. Stevie Johnson has been the far better receiver this season with significantly fewer routes run. I'd love to see him back, but how much is a malcontent who isn't producing up to his preferred price really worth?
