Wrestlemania 31 tickets on sale for Levi's Stadium

Michael N. Todaro

Levi's Stadium was built to house the San Francisco 49ers, but it was also built to cash in on numerous major sports and entertainment events. The stadium will host Super Bowl 50 in February 2016, but the site will host a significant event next March. On March 29, 2015, Levi's Stadium will host Wrestlemania 31. I realize this is not 49ers related, but I've been enough of a wrestling fan over the years that I thought it would be cool to keep track of some of the news related to the event.

A pre-sale was conducted on Thursday, and there will be an on-sale promotion to the general public at the stadium on Friday. After that, general ticket sales will be available online, depending on what inventory remains. tickets will go on sale to the general public on Friday. Ticket prices range from $35 to $2,000 (ringside, and you can take home your seat to smash on somebody's back). Here is how the seating chart will look for the wrestling configuration.

The build-up to the event has been pretty big early on. Hulk Hogan is in town to promote the start of ticket sales, and claims he will wrestle at Wrestlemania. There have been no indications that is in the cards for WWE, but you never know what might happen. The Friday event will include Hogan, Jimmy Hart, Booker T, Daniel Bryan and Bad News Barrett, among others. Hulk was in attendance at the Warriors game Thursday evening, and briefly did some tweeting,

I realize that many people will be indifferent to this. I'm not as big a wrestling fan now as when I was a kid, but I still occasionally enjoy watching. And actually, one of the best live events I ever attended was a WWF PPV in Washington, DC while I was in college (it was not yet WWE at the time). Anybody going to make it to Wrestlemania next March at Levi's Stadium?

And of course, obligatory GIF:
