The San Francisco 49ers and New York Giants each released their final injury reports, and we do not have any real surprises. I suppose the biggest surprise is the 49ers actually listed two players, Ian Williams and Jimmie Ward, with an "Out" designation. The 49ers usually just say players are questionable, with the assumption that they will not be playing.
Tramaine Brock and Bruce Ellington are both listed as questionable, but it is useful to note that neither practiced this week. When players sit out a full week of practice, they generally do not play. Eric Branch was already first to report that Brock would not play this week (with mention that he might miss a couple weeks), and Ellington has been working back from an ankle injury this past Sunday. We can probably expect Perrish Cox to handle punt returns on Sunday, with Carlos Hyde getting kick returns. This could also mean Quinton Patton gets activated, although it could instead just be a special teamer getting activated.
The Giants injury report is just about what we expected. Rashad Jennings is just about good to go, so we'll see him getting plenty of work on Sunday. Andre Williams will get carries as well, but I expect Jennings to get plenty of the workload. Jennings has expressed plenty of confidence about his return, so we'll see what Sunday brings against the 49ers strong run defense.
