Fooch's Update: 49ers WON!
The San Francisco 49ers head back on the road for a second consecutive week to face the New York Giants in Week 11. This marks the 49ers last significant bit of travel. The final six weeks includes four home games, and road games at the Oakland Raiders and Seattle Seahawks. There are plenty of difficult games in the remaining schedule, but travel will not be a significant issue in those games.
The 49ers are 5-4, and sit a game back of Seattle, and three games back of Arizona in the NFC West. The Giants are 3-6, sitting 3.5 back of Dallas, and four back of Philadelphia in the NFC East. The 49ers snapped a two-game losing streak with their win in New Orleans last week. The Giants have dropped four straight, including an ugly fourth quarter beating by the Seahawks last week.
Sunday's game will be broadcast on FOX, kicking off at 10:00 a.m. PT. The 49ers once again get FOX's No. 2 team, with Kevin Burkhardt and John Lynch in the booth, and Pam Oliver on the sidelines. The game does not get a particularly large broadcast, but there are some notable spots getting the game. You can view the full broadcast map at 506sports.com. You can view additional broadcast info HERE. If you live abroad, you can watch the game on NFL Game Pass. If you live in the US, NFL Rewind offers games after the fact, but not live.
The 49ers have declared themselves in the midst of seven one-week seasons the rest of the way. There are plenty of notable games featuring other playoff contenders, but the 49ers can only control the games they play. If they keep winning, everything else should resolve itself as needed. That's all they can concern themselves with right now.
