The San Francisco 49ers and New York Giants each released their Week 11 inactives, and there are no surprises on the 49ers side of things. The most notable absence for the 49ers would be cornerback Tramaine Brock. He is dealing with a hamstring injury after completing his recovery from turf toe. Eric Branch reported he could miss a game or two, so we'll see what the practice report brings this coming week. The 49ers will not rush him back, but in light of Jimmie Ward's season-ending foot injury, the sooner the 49ers can get Brock back, the better.
Aldon Smith is active, as expected. The 49ers will rotate him with Aaron Lynch and Ahmad Brooks when they go into their nickel defense. Dan Skuta is inactive with his ankle injury. Additionally, Quinton Dial will get the start at nose tackle, with Glenn Dorsey coming back next week. The 49ers will spend most of their time in nickel or dime, so the nose tackle will not be prominently featured/
One of the more interesting inactives is Quinton Patton. The 49ers are without Bruce Ellington, but that was not enough to get Patton active today. They will go with Anquan Boldin, Michael Crabtree, Stevie Johnson and Brandon Lloyd, and no more at the wide receiver position.
49ers inactives: QB Josh Johnson, CB Tramaine Brock, WR Bruce Ellington, S L.J. McCray, WR Quinton Patton, OLB Dan Skuta, NT Ian Williams
Giants inactives: LB Jacquian Williams, DT Cullen Jenkins, CB Mike Harris, OL James Brewer, OL Brandon Mosley, OL Adam Snyder, DE Kerry Wynn
