Welcome back for another week of my power rankings. I don't think any power rankings have consistent rhyme or reason to them, and mine are no different. Sometimes I'll go in and re-assess the entirety of what I'm thinking, and sometimes I'll just make some minor adjustments. Different teams have different context to how they are rankings.
The San Francisco 49ers defeated the New York Giants this past weekend, and while it was not a pretty victory, it was still an essential road victory. I bumped them up one spot, although that was only really due to a big drop for Philadelphia. The Eagles are 7-3 and lead the NFC East, but they've got big questions at quarterback. They seem to be headed in the wrong direction in a hurry.
I gave the Cardinals a boost back up to the No. 2 position following their home win over the Lions. Arizona lost Carson Palmer, but they continue to find ways to win without him, and remain the top threat in the NFC. They might eventually come back to earth, but that defense is taking care of business for them.
The Patriots continue to get my top spot following a dominant win in Indianapolis. After a 2-2 start, the Patriots have won six straight, with a home win over the Broncos and this road win over the Colts. They are beatable, but they're playing some really solid football right now.
What changes would you make in the power rankings?
