San Francisco 49ers rookie Chris Borland is once again nominated for the Pepsi Rookie of the Week award. This is the third straight week he has been nominated for the award. He won it last week, and has a decent chance of winning it this week. He finished Sunday's game with 12 tackles, 2 interceptions, three passes defensed and a sack. His competition this week includes:
Mike Evans, WR, Buccaneers: Evans had seven catches for 209 yards and two touchdowns in the Buccaneers' 27-7 win over theWashington Redskins.
Alfred Blue, RB, Texans: Blue had 36 carries for 156 rushing yards in the Texans' 23-7 win against the Cleveland Browns.
Tre Mason, RB, Rams: Mason had 29 carries for 113 yards in the Rams' 22-7 win against the Denver Broncos.
Jeremy Hill, RB, Bengals: Hill had 27 carries for 152 yards in the Bengals' 27-10 win against the New Orleans Saints.
This is strictly a popular vote, and you can vote as many times as you want. If you are so inclined, head over to vote.
Piling up these awards are nice, but the real question is if Borland has enough time left to get further into the Defensive Rookie of the Year award discussion. If he continues with anything resembling his recent performances, he'll be in the thick of DROY conversations. But will it be enough to actually take home the award?
