49ers-Washington injury report: Jordan Reed, Trent Williams, Shawn Lauvao most notable names on Wednesday

The 49ers and Washington released their first injury reports, and there are some notable names to consider for both teams. We have the full rundown.

Geoff Burke-USA TODAY Sports

The San Francisco 49ers and Washington released their first practice participation reports for the week on Wednesday. The Wednesday report is far from the be-all, end-all, but there are some intriguing names to consider. Washington has four starters of note that missed practice. Left tackle Trent Williams, tight end Jordan Reed, left guard Shawn Lauvao, and nose tackle Chris Baker all sat out practice on Wednesday. both sat out practice on Wednesday.

Williams has sprains of his MCL and ankle, while Reed is dealing with a hamstring injury. Head coach Jay Gruden has said Williams is day-to-day, but MCL sprains are not quite so simple. Reed was not on the injury report last week, so this would appear to be a new injury. He made it through last Sunday's game, but missed four games earlier this season with a hamstring issue. Lauvao suffered a concussion, and will go through the concussion protocol. Baker has a chest injury that appears to have happened this past weekend. I'm not finding any details on it.

On the 49ers side of things, Anthony Davis sat out practice as he works through the concussion protocol. The key will be seeing limited work from him at some point this week. Glen Dorsey was not on last week's injury report because he was not activated. I would presume the forearm is connected to the injury that put him on injured reserve. We'll hopefully find out more as the week goes along. I'm sure Vic Fangio will get a question or two about him during Thursday's media sessions.
