Bruce Ellington unsportsmanlike conduct penalty was pretty weak

In case you're wondering, the play above got Bruce Ellington a penalty for unsportsmanlike conduct. He should not have tossed the ball at the Rams, but that seems pretty ticky-tack. That being said, I imagine throwing a ball to an opposing player is basically an automatic penalty.
