Welcome back to another week of NFL action! Week 12 gets underway tonight with the Oakland Raiders hosting the Kansas City Chiefs on NFL Network. The game kicks off at 5:25 p.m. PT, with Jim Nantz and Phil Simms calling the game from the booth, and Tracy Wolfson handling sideline work. The Chiefs are a touchdown favorite over the Raiders.
This series has actually had an interesting occurrence the last ten games at each site. Over the last ten games in Oakland, the Chiefs are 8-2 against the spread, while over the last ten games in Kansas City, the Raiders are 8-2 against the spread. The Chiefs are 8-2 straight up in Oakland, while the Raiders are 6-4 straight up in Kansas City.
The Raiders are still looking for their first win, and there is no indication it will happen anytime soon. Following this game, Oakland's schedule does not really get much easier:
Week 13: @ St. Louis Rams
Week 14: vs. San Francisco 49ers
Week 15: @ Kansas City Chiefs
Week 16: vs. Buffalo Bills
Week 17: @ Denver Broncos
The Rams and Bills games are probably their best opportunities. Of course, given the random road record at Kansas City, maybe that is the game they win. Whatever the case, 0-16 is a very real possibility.
As for the Chiefs, they find themselves right back in the thick of the AFC West race, tied with the Denver Broncos at 7-3. The Chiefs and Broncos schedules wrap up as follows (Chiefs before the back slash, Broncos after the backslash, Broncos host Miami this week):
Week 13: vs. Denver Broncos / @ Kansas City Chiefs
Week 14: @ Arizona Cardinals / vs. Buffalo Bills
Week 15: vs. Oakland Raiders / @ San Diego Chargers
Week 16: @ Pittsburgh Steelers / @ Cincinnati Bengals
Week 17: vs. San Diego Chargers / vs. Oakland Raiders
Kansas City has the edge in terms of home games, while the Broncos currently hold the tie-breaker edge with the win in Denver. Next week's matchup at Arrowhead is going to be kind of monstrous.
