49ers-Washington inactives: Vance McDonald out with hip injury

San Francisco and Washington each released their inactives for Week 12. We break down what it means for each team.

The San Francisco 49ers and Washington have released their Week 12 inactives, and we have one surprise. Tight end Vance McDonald is inactive with a hip injury suffered during the week. He was not on the injury report on Wednesday, but then showed up as limited on Thursday and Friday. Other than that, Anthony Davis and Glenn Dorsey were both ruled out on Friday, so it is not surprise that they are listed as inactive.

Tank Carradine will once again get a crack at making an impact for the third straight week. He had 5 snaps in Week 10, and then 12 more in Week 11. Quinton Dial will get the nose tackle start, but Tank will get his share of work. Washington uses fewer three wide receiver sets than the Giants in last week's matchup, which potentially means fewer opportunities for Tank. If the 49ers can take a big lead, that could open the door for more opportunities for him. But even if this is a fairly close game, I could see Tank getting upwards of ten snaps.

Washington ruled NT Chris Baker and NT Jordan Reed out on their final injury report. They decided to deactivate left tackle Trent Williams as he is dealing with sprains to his MCL and ankle.

49ers inactives: QB Josh Johnson, WR Quinton Patton, DT Glenn Dorsey, CB Tramaine Brock, OT Anthony Davis, WR Bruce Ellington, TE Vance McDonald

Washington inactives: QB Kirk Cousins, WR allen Robinson, CB P Amerson, OT Trent Williams, TE Jordan Reed, DL Chris Baker, WR Leonard Hankerson
