Only two days removed from a 17-13 loss to the San Francisco 49ers, the chaos in Washington continues. ESPN's Adam Schefter is reporting the team has decided to bench Robert Griffin III for the near term, and insert Colt McCoy into the starting lineup.
RG3 was 11 of 19 for 106 yards on Sunday, and was sacked five times. Although the line looks fairly mediocre, RG3 was pretty awful. The 49ers defense did a good job, but even when Washington wide receivers were getting open, RG3 could not hit him. There have been a lot rumblings about his contributions to the problems in Washington, and things are clearly not getting any better.
Schefter reported Washington still considers RG3 part of their long-term plans, but things seem fairly up in the air at the moment. Colt McCoy and Kirk Cousins are not the future for this team, and RG3 has not exactly wowed this season. Oh, and it would appear the team has not been informed of this decision.
Boy oh boy I sure love when ESPN has information about our team before the players. #WhoIsThisUnnamedSource #IsmellArat

Sundberg is the long snapper, so I suppose it is entirely possible others have been told. But I would not be surprised if Washington has not figured out their situation sufficiently to tell the team what exactly us going on.
So, when things seem bad in San Francisco, just remember, we could always be rooting for the fightin' Snyders.
