The San Francisco 49ers and New Orleans Saints released their injury reports, and we have one new addition for each team. 49ers defensive tackle Quinton Dial was added as limited due to an eye injury. Matt Barrows tweeted that Dial was poked in the eye. Saints wide receiver Robert Meachem sat out practice on Thursday due to an ankle injury.
Patrick Willis and Dan Skuta both sat out practice for the second straight day. Earlier in the day, Vic Fangio said Willis was questionable for Sunday at this point, but if he did not get into practice before the end of the week, he would more likely be doubtful. I would be surprised if either Willis or Skuta played on Sunday, but we'll see what Friday's practice report brings.
If Willis cannot go, Chris Borland will get a second consecutive start in his place. The more "interesting" absence would be Skuta because it would likely mean full starting reps for Aaron Lynch. The 49ers have used Lynch in the nickel, but this would likely mean close to a full workload. It could also mean Corey Lemonier gets some work, but I am anxious to see Lynch in base downs.
